By the age of 12, determined to take her passion further, she learned to play several instruments and began writing her own songs.

This passion led her to take a decisive step forward. After signing with Big Machine Records, she released her debut album in 2006. The success was immediate, with hits like “Tim McGraw” and “Teardrops on My Guitar.” At 16, she made history by becoming one of the youngest artists to write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot 100.

2 - Taylor Swift's acting career

 2.1. Comedy and television debut

In 2009, Taylor Swift began her acting career with an appearance on the TV series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. She played a rebellious teenager, a role that allowed her to show a different side of herself. According to The New York Times, this role revealed a darker and more credible facet of the artist. Additionally, Rolling Stone noted that she “did her own thing” and “worked the script well,” highlighting her ability to make the character her own. Furthermore, Chicago Tribune found that Taylor Swift was “comfortable in her role,” marking the start of a promising acting career.

Later that year, she also hosted and performed on Saturday Night Live. Entertainment Weekly named her “best host of the SNL season,” praising her ability to rise to the challenge. The magazine emphasized that she seemed “to have fun and helped the rest of the cast land the punchlines,” while also being “remarkably versatile in a wide range of sketch roles.”

2.2. First film roles

In 2010, Taylor Swift made her film debut with a role in the romantic comedy *Valentine’s Day*. She portrayed the quirky girlfriend of the most popular boy, and her performance quickly caught the attention of critics. *The Los Angeles Times* highlighted her “serious and comedic potential,” while *San Francisco Chronicle* found her “very funny.” *Time* remarked that she played her role “in a very charming way,” and *The Boston Globe* described her as “adorably ditzy.” However, *Salon.com* went further, noting that she “was one of the few who didn’t get lost in the film,” comparing her look and gaze to icons like Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball. Taylor Swift had a relationship with Joe Jonas, a member of the Jonas Brothers, in 2008. Their breakup, allegedly over the phone, inspired her song *Fearless: Forever and Always*. Then, in the summer of 2009, she met Taylor Lautner on the set of *Valentine’s Day*. They dated from September to December, before parting ways. In 2010, she dedicated the song *Back to December* to him and later, in 2023, *I Can See You*.

In December 2009, Taylor began a relationship with John Mayer, whom she had met a year earlier at the Met Gala. Their breakup in March 2010 inspired several songs, such as *Dear John*, *The Story of Us*, and *Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve*. This separation left a lasting impact on her music, marking a shift towards more introspective lyrics.

4.2. Relationships and evolution of the singer

From the fall of 2010 to the spring of 2011, Taylor dated Jake Gyllenhaal. Their breakup inspired the song *All Too Well*, as well as *We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together* and *I Bet You Think About Me*. These tracks capture the intensity of the relationship and the subsequent separation.

In May 2023, rumors spread about a brief romance with Matty Healy, a member of *The 1975*. However, TMZ reported their breakup on June 5, without any official confirmation.

4.4. A new love story with Travis Kelce

In September 2023, Taylor Swift began dating American football player Travis Kelce. Kelce confirmed their relationship in November.

Taylor shared that they had been seeing each other since late July 2023. Their highly publicized relationship received extensive media coverage, especially during Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024.

At that event, Travis Kelce’s team won the championship, which brought even more attention to their story.

Indeed, her lyrics have given me the strength to face my own challenges and find answers within myself. It’s this intimate connection with her music that inspired me to pay tribute to her through my art.

Drawing Taylor Swift is much more than just an illustration. It’s about capturing a moment, a pure emotion. Each portrait is an attempt to translate the strength of her gaze and the sensitivity of her features onto paper. It’s also an opportunity to explore the energy that radiates from her music through the medium of drawing.
